The Caption Formula That Works
Great captions follow a simple structure: Hook, Value, CTA.
Hook: The first line stops the scroll. Ask a question, make a bold statement, or call out a specific pain point.
Value: The body of the caption delivers something useful. A tip, a story, a surprising fact.
CTA: The last line tells people what to do next. Comment, save, click the link, DM you.
Examples That Work
Service business: "Most of our clients come to us after trying to do social media themselves for 6 months. Here is what they all say they wish they had known from the start."
Restaurant: "This is the dish that gets the most comments. And no, we are not sharing the recipe. But we are sharing a 10% off code for this weekend."
Real estate: "Sold in 3 days above asking. Here is what the sellers did differently (hint: it started 6 weeks before listing)."
Length Matters Less Than You Think
Instagram allows up to 2,200 characters. Use what you need. Some posts work best short. Others need the full story. Test both and check your analytics.
The Bottom Line
